Another Hurricane?

People are asking, “What can I do?” It is natural to feel helpless.

First, pray.

All thoughtful action emerges from prayer and supplication.
And pray for the people who have been and will be affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Then, of course, there are the people out west facing catastrophic fires.  May God's healing presence bring peace and hope to all in these times of need.

Second, give.

Right now, the best to disasters is to send money to the agencies that respond. The Red Cross is one example. Perhaps you know a different organization. By all means, donate to them.

You can also support the work of Lutheran Disaster Response, which provides immediate and long-lasting support. The road to recovery will be long, and Lutheran Disaster Response will be there to accompany those affected through every phase of these disasters.

Or you can give to Lutheran Disaster Response just by clicking on the “Giving” tab on this website - Write "Hurricane" or "Fires" where asked to specify your "designated gift".

We invite you to stand by our neighbors in this time of chaos.
