Daily Lenten thoughts

BRING IT TO THE TABLE

We invite you to join us at the table this Lent.

Each day in Lent, we'll post a new question or idea for your meal table with those in your household, whatever that might mean for you.

Don’t eat your meals with someone? Improvise!

If you live with others, find a different time to talk. Talk before bed at night, or before you leave in the morning. Adapt the ideas freely.

Live alone? Make a covenant with a “table-partner” to share thoughts with each other: talk over coffee, or talk on the phone, or send a daily email.

Or, pull out a journal at your meal. Reflect with yourself and God.

Or, share your thoughts with us in the comment section at the bottom of the page. We'll read and respond.

Click on the images below to read the thoughts for each day.

Lent is a time for giving up things that keep us from being loving people. Lent is a time to be more aware of how much God loves us. Lent is a time to be more aware of what it means to love others as God loves us. Lent is a time to ask God to help us to be more loving. What better place to practice Lent than at the table?
