Trinity Sunday invites us to ponder the mystery of God as we enter the Season after Pentecost. When we say God is the triune God, we are saying that there is community within God. Like turning a fine diamond in the light, each text today shows a different facet of our amazing God.
Discuss in your household or small group:
* How do you imagine God?
* What questions do these texts raise for you about God as Trinity?
* God prepares Isaiah with a burning coal before Isaiah hears his call. How do you need God to prepare you?
* Why do you think that Nicodemus came to Jesus at night?
* What sort of questions arises in the night for you?

Blessed be the Holy Three, the ever One, the Trinity.
Throughout the Day: Help me rest in your mystery.
Blessing to Share: May you know the presence of God.
For mealtime, say responsively:
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord: the earth is filled with God’s glory!
Mealtime Prayer:
For bacon, eggs and buttered toast,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
FOR FURTHER REFLECTION
Devotional Practice: Think of something you encounter regularly that will remind you of God’s presence (your watch, seeing children, a plant, washing dishes, your front door). Every time you come across your reminder, turn your heart to God and be aware of God’s presence. What is it like to notice God? What are you like when you are aware of God’s presence with you?
Summer Ritual: Everything in our universe is incredible – from the tiny blue flowers blooming in the yard to the puffy white clouds in the sky. What do you love to see in nature? What smell delights you? What sounds do you stop to listen for? What tastes satisfy? This summer start each morning with a simple prayer: Lord, show me something incredible. Amen. Then watch to see what the treasure is. When you find it, in your mind add a tag “Made by God”.
SCATTERED TO SERVE
Some people are homeless because they have no physical shelter. Other people are “homeless” because they have no place to be welcomed, accepted, and valued.
Practice hospitality this week. The basic rudiments of Christian hospitality are simply good manners. This week strive to use please and thank you, open doors for others, offer help, be kind, and yes, even smile at those you meet. To welcome another is to treat that person with respect, accepting, valuing, acknowledging that each person as a child of God.
